1) JUST WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP? (MICRO- PIGMENTATION)

Micropigmentation is a revolutionary method of applying micro insertions of pigments into the dermal layer of the skin. It is similar to traditional tatoo, but with some important diferences. Specifically, we use high quality, hypoallergenic pigments that are formulated to achieve a wide variety of soft natural colors appropriate to facial makeup, as opposed the inks and pigments used in traditional tatoo. These pigments used in micropigmentation are less likely to run or "bleed" under the skin, and they give a softer, more natural appearance. Additionally, micropigmentation may not not typically last as long as traditional tatoo. (see below) This state of the art technique is medically proven and specifically designed to be completely safe.

2) WILL I REALLY LOOK LIKE MYSELF.......ONLY BETTER?

Absolutely! Permanent make-up helps give back what time has taken away and saves you precious time you normally spend "putting on your face". You can save countless hours in a single year that were formerly spent struggling to draw eyebrows evenly or eye-liner half-way straight... that's a lot of extra free time! Plus, imagine the money you'll save not buying expensive cosmetics that rub off, smear, smudge and disapear during the day. Permanent make-up is not necessarily intended to replace cosmetics completely. Because the color is placed "in" your skin and not "on" your skin a more natural look results. When you're ready to kick up your heels and go out for a night on the town or want a different look, you can apply as much additional makeup as you wish.

4) HOW PERMANENT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP?

"Permanent " makeup DOES fade over time. The pigments remain in your skin, but may become less visible. Usually you will have to have it re-touched every one to five years, depending on a number of factors, such as sun exposure, depth of color and implantation, and use of exfoliants.

5) DO I HAVE A CHOICE OF COLORS AND PLACEMENT?

Colors are custom mixed for each application, creating the colors that compliment and enhance your skin type and fit your style. Placement is fully discussed prior to the procedure, and is completely up to you. You will be fully aware during the procedure. Together we will create the perfect look for you. Your satisfaction is my success.

6) IS THE PROCEDURE OR RECOVERY PAINFUL?

Topical anesthetics are used to minimize discomfort during the procedure. There will be slight swelling and redness in the skin afterwards, which will subside quickly. People vary widely in their response. For some the swelling and redness subside the same day, while for others it may take a day or two. You may be advised to used ice packs intermittently during the rest of the day of the procedure, but may otherwise resume normal activities immediately. Complete healing takes two to three weeks while the pigmentation matures and reaches its final color.

7) UNDER WHAT CONDITIONS ARE THE PROCEDURES PERFORMED?

All procedures are performed using new sterile needles and all new disposable supplies. Usually I perform the procedures in my safe and clean home studio. However, I may work at additional locations under special circumstances. Your comfort is my goal.

8) WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW AND DO BEFORE MY PROCEDURES?

The main CONDITIONS THAT NEED PRE-PROCEDURE ATTENTION are: **History of cold sores....You will need to take anti-viral medication a few days in advance of a lip procedure. **Use of Accutane....Your skin is too fragile to work on at this time. **Problems at the dentist's office, such as allergy to anesthetics, or need to pre-medicate. **If you want lip color you should discontinue use of lip plumpers during the week preceding the procedure. There are some PRE-PROCEDURE PREPARATIONS THAT ARE HELPFUL TO KNOW but not really a problem if you don't. **You may want to avoid any blood-thinning medications such as aspirIn, ibuprofen, or vitamin E during the week before the procedure, unless medically necessary. **You may want to avoid scheduling your procedures for your pre-menstrual week, since women are often more sensitive to discomfort at this time. **You may want to take an antihistamine such as Benadryl the night before the procedure, or a non-drowsy antihistamine just before the procedure to prevent swelling and help relaxation. **If you wear contact lenses, you need to leave them off and bring your glasses. Your pre-procedure instructions will be fully reviewed with you at either your phone consultation or personal consultation.
